Deep Foundations Specialists were directly engaged by Lidl UK as foundation specialist consulting engineers for their large scale retail development over a pre-existing chalk mine and landfill in Kent.
We’ve been working with Lidl UK for more than a year from preliminary foundation design and preliminary foundation testing stages, with the primary aim of developing the most optimal ground engineering solutions for the scheme.
Permanent foundation construction works are now progressing really well and it has been so enjoyable working with the site operatives of the appointed foundation specialist contractors; @Green Piling Limited, who have been so wonderful, based on their multiple years of experience on similar schemes.
The foundation solution for the scheme includes the installation of a combination of approx. 700 No. precast concrete driven and top-driven steel-cased bearing piles, with associated dynamic load testing for in-situ capacity verification.
Results of the dynamic load tests are absolutely remarkable
